Delta Skymiles Card Review

Refer to the above summary for our Delta Skymiles Card Review. If you are a current or former user, we’d like to hear from you. How was your experience? Would you be a repeat card user?

American Express offers a wide variety of products for small businesses, through a combination of merchant financing, invoice financing (vendor payments) and working capital business loans. Paying vendors within ten days can save your business on their accounts payable, often by about 2% according to Money Crashers.1 This can help improve your business’ cash flow.

But their most popular small business funding method remains small business credit cards. Depending on your business’ industry, you might enjoy the different travel rewards from their Delta Skymiles card. The card, a collaborative offering between Delta airlines and American Express, offers business financing geared towards heavy business travelers.  And if your business is a frequent Delta flyer (i.e. you’re located near their hub in Atlanta, Georgia area) for travel, these cards might be a great financing option.

The Delta SkyMiles card from American Express competes with other travel rewards cards including the Citibusiness card and the Travel Rewards Bank of America business credit card.

Interestingly, there are actually three separate Delta Skymiles card offerings- Gold, Platinum and Reserve, each with their own highlights.

Here’s a closer look at each. Keep in mind, business credit card offers frequently change with issuers so always double check offers on their websites.

Gold Delta Skymiles Card benefits:

  • 60,000 bonus miles when you spend a qualifying $2,000 in the first 3 months.
  • 2 miles for every dollar spent directly with Delta.
  • 1 mile for every dollar spent on other qualifying purchases.
  • Free checked bag for up to four travelers.

Platinum Skymiles card:

  • Earn 35,000 Bonus Miles when you spend $1000 in first 3 months.
  • Get 5,000 Medallion Qualification Miles when spending $1,000 in first 3 months.
  • Save 20% on most Delta inflight purchases.
  • A Roadside Assistance Hotline

Delta Reserve for Business Card:

  • Priority Boarding
  • 15,000 bonus and 15,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) when you spend $30,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year.
  • APRs on purchases as low as 17.99%.

The Delta Reserve for Business card also has a generous welcome offer: 40,000 bonus miles and 10,000 MQMs when you spend $3,000 in qualifying purchases in the first 3 months of the card opening.
